ControlPoint Surveying, Inc. was tasked to provide land surveying services in support of the design for the subject project. It involved surveying approximately eleven (11) miles of a proposed route for the upgrading of power facilities and provided support for the geotechnical consultant with proposed stake-outs of boring and test pit locations. Data collection involved the use of conventional, GPS and 3D laser scanning methods. Due to an accelerated schedule for data collection, processing and mapping, concurrent actions were necessary to be implemented to meet milestones. Logistics for mobilization to and duration on site were challenging but through excellent coordination and cooperation from all parties made this effort meet its initial goals.
